FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

Laser hair reduction uses medical-grade light energy to target the pigment in hair follicles, heating and disabling them to significantly reduce hair regrowth. It is not classed as permanent removal, but most clients achieve a long-lasting, dramatic reduction in hair growth with smooth skin results.

Most clients require between 6 and 8 sessions to achieve the best results. This is because the laser can only target hairs in their active growth phase, and not all hairs are at the same stage at the same time. Sessions are spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart depending on the treatment area.

Most people describe the sensation as a mild snapping or warmth against the skin, similar to a rubber band flick. Our laser technology is tailored to your skin tone and hair type to keep discomfort minimal throughout the treatment.

We treat most areas of the face and body, including the legs, underarms, bikini line, arms, back, chest, stomach, upper lip, chin, and jawline. If you are unsure whether your area of concern can be treated, we are happy to advise during a consultation.

You should shave the treatment area 24 hours before your session. Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading for at least 4 weeks prior, as the laser needs the hair root to be present. Avoid sun exposure and self-tan for at least 2 weeks before treatment, and do not apply any creams, deodorant, or perfume to the area on the day.

For 24–48 hours after treatment, avoid sun exposure, sunbeds, saunas, hot baths, swimming pools, and intense exercise. Apply SPF50 to any treated areas exposed to sunlight. Avoid picking or scratching the area as the skin may feel sensitive.

You may notice hairs continuing to appear in the days following treatment — this is normal and means the follicles are shedding. Most clients see the treated hairs fall out within 1 to 3 weeks. You will notice progressively less regrowth with each subsequent session.

We advise against treating recently tanned skin as it increases the risk of adverse reactions including burns or pigmentation changes. Please let us know if you have had recent sun exposure or have used self-tan products, and we can advise on the best time to begin your course of treatment.

Laser hair reduction provides a long-lasting and significant reduction in hair growth, but results vary between individuals. Some clients require occasional top-up sessions to maintain their results, particularly if hormonal changes occur over time.

Laser hair reduction is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It may also not be suitable for those on certain medications.  A full assessment will be carried out before your first session to ensure the treatment is safe for you.
